Secret to Succesful Video Marketing
Thanks for returning! When it comes to success, 80% of your success relies on simply showing up. You clearly care about getting more clients!
I just finished an awesome session teaching the folks at my webinar great ways to get your video seen.
The reason it was so great is because it directly addressed a criticism I’ve frequently heard:
You have too much fun.
No, wait, that wasn’t it.
Having a video doesn’t make you get more clients or turn you into a bestselling author (if your video is a book trailer).
Video is Not Enough
True! Like a website, having one doesn’t mean people will see it! But for those who are trying to get more clients online without having a website or video, how’s that working out for you?
The value of video is how it has the potential (I emphasize “potential”) to make the viewer feel emotions so strong that they’ll want to learn more. It’s more powerful than words, than audio, than pictures because it’s all of those combined.
But to be a successful video means having viewers watch it.
So I teach more than how to make a video, I teach how to position the video so that it’s most visible using keywords and search engine optimization (SEO). I also teach how to get more traffic to the pages that have your video so that more people watch it.
Today we went over backlinks which – while very important in getting ranked high in Google, and getting traffic to your site – may not be the super best way to get more people watching your video.
Coveted Secret
There’s a secret to making a well-crafted video a highly watched item. In fact, if you know this secret, you can apply it to becoming a best-selling author, getting tons of money, and all the flour you want to make your cat whiter.
Are you ready for the secret?
Come closer.
Shh.
Other people.
That’s it! That’s what can turn a hidden gem into a priceless piece for all to see.
So what do I mean?
Call it what you want: partnership, joint venture, associates. Getting other people involved in your work will get other people committed to being seen.
Let me explain.
Explanation to the Coveted Secret
Say you have a video. It’s powerful, emotional, meaningful, and gets any viewer excited about what you have to offer. But if you made it on your own, you have just your friends and family to share it with.
Now, have a team of actors, musicians, and a voice over person help create your video, and you’ve got a couple or perhaps dozens of people ready to show off their work to their friends and families! And if you end your video with “share this with someone you love” or something of that nature, those people will spread it to their friends and families.
Nice concept, right?
It’s more than that.
Personal Experience
I didn’t see the power of it until I witnessed it firsthand.
A while back I did my first webinar for authors wanting to learn how to make a book trailer. I had almost no sign-ups until my wife sent out the word to her list of authors. As a book coach of several years, she had an ample list of people who would benefit from the information. Within two days I had over 60 sign-ups.
WOW!
The webinar site I used limited me to 50 people, so some couldn’t even sign on!
But there’s more.
My wife is the editor of 2 bestsellers and I guarantee you the next one she’s working on will be a bestseller, too.
Why?
All three are compilations of people’s work. It’s not just one author. By having so many put in their blood, sweat, and flour, the result is that so many people want to promote the book.
Flour Power
I’m coming out with a book, too, you know?
It’s a thriller called “the Torah Codes.” It’s a Jewish version of “The DaVinci Code.” And at first I planned on sending out queries to agents to get the book to a mainstream publisher.
I can still do that.
If I want to go broke.
My new strategy is to have rabbis from all over contribute their thoughts to the moral of the story. I think that will not only make the book quickly reach congregations all over, but it will also enhance the quality of the book. Wouldn’t it have been great hearing what historians, priests, and artists had to say about “The DaVinci Code” in an appendix?
So that’s the secret.
Find other people passionate about you and your work, ask them to volunteer their time in exchange for credit in making the video, and your views will increase madly.
Now I want you to challenge me. Write a comment below on why I’m completely wrong, or add value to what I’ve said by suggesting other ways to get tons of more views.
