Thanks for returning! When it comes to success, 80% of your success relies on simply showing up. You clearly care about getting more clients!

Getting More Readers to Buy Your Book

You’re like a lot of other authors and want to know the best way to get more readers to buy your book. Internet marketers know a mighty secret: The best way to get more people to buy your product is to develop a relationship with them. Get them to see who you really are, someone they can like, know, and trust, and they’ll want to help you out in ways that will also benefit them. They’ll want to buy your product.

Build a Relationship

When I first met the brilliant woman who’s now my wife, I didn’t open with, “Will you marry me?” Not to say it’s a bad pick-up line, I seem to remember my friend’s parents meeting that way:

“Harry, meet Charlene.”

“Hi, Charlene. Will you marry me?”

But when I met my wife, after I stopped drooling, our compatibility started with finding commonalities. We met at a writer’s group, so we knew we both loved writing. I found out she was Jewish, like me. And, well, that’s about all I needed.

Next was to make an offer: “You want to see a movie?”

I added benefits and bonuses to make the offer irresistable: “We can see ‘Enemy of the State,’ a movie certain to be a great one, I’ll pay for it and for the dinner beforehand.”

She bought it.

Since she was a previous customer, next was to make an offer of higher value: “I’m visiting my sister in Israel. The plane stops in Paris. Want to come with me to Paris, and spend a week there together before I continue to Israel?”

She bought it.

Chantilly, France

With such a good customer, I decided to ask for a huge investment from her. In France, we took a side trip to a castle in Chantilly. In the gardens of Chantilly’s castle, I sang to her a song I wrote. The words of the song, “Sacred Seas” were my way of proposing to her.

She said, “Yes! A thousand times yes!”

Best sale I ever made.

Building a Relationship With Video

So how do you create a relationship with people you’ll probably never meet?

Internet marketers use auto-responders, newsletters, and emails that are scheduled to be sent to prospects automatically as a way to build a relationship with the prospects. The prospects receive the newsletters and emails, and they get a feel for whether the marketer is an altruistic character or a slimeball.

With video, you can create a series of videos showing someone reading your book aloud. Short clips are easy to digest. See the video above as an example of using a video series to build a relationship.
